Unipart Group Highlights 2007
The signing of a ten-year book distribution contract with leading High Street and online chain Waterstone's was the highlight of another successful year for Unipart in the logistics market.
Once fully operational, the multi-million pound Burton distribution centre will create hundreds of new jobs.
Unipart also won new business from Habitat and Floors-2-Go and signed more than £70 million of new contracts in the rail sector. Existing customers also increased their business with Unipart with Halfords handing over their bike distribution business to the Cowley distribution centre.
Unipart Group Highlights 2006
One of the most significant highlights of 2006 was the official opening of a state-of-the art logistics and handset repair facility at Nuneaton. This is the UK's largest mobile phone repair facility. It is Unipart's goal of becoming the ultimate logistics partner made truly tangible. The signing of a ten-year contract with the mobile phone giant was further proof of the depth and strength of the relationship.
We also welcomed a significant new client in the form of ASOS.com to take their place with our other blue chip clients, 3, Airbus, Homebase, Halfords, Jaguar, BSkyB and Jessops.
The Group's expertise in the implementation of lean principles and methodologies in office, logistics and manufacturing environments has led to major consultancy contracts with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, cash handling group Securitas, a large financial services institution and a global manufacturer.
